Founded in 1924, Alpha Lambda Delta (ALD) is a national honor society in which only full-time, degree-seeking, first-year students who have achieved at least a 3.5 gpa in the first semester of study are invited to become members. The mission of ALD is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.

UNC Greensboro’s chapter was founded May 8, 1988, and currently has over 750 current members here on campus. Once inducted, members participate in a variety of academic and social service opportunities. ALD members enjoy study nights, social events, personal and professional development, and leadership opportunities throughout their academic careers at UNCG. If you receive a 3.5 GPA in your first semester at UNCG, be on the lookout for an email inviting you to join ALD during the spring semester!
